a little background…

This all began with a flock of chickens. Long before recreational cannabis in Delaware, Forest Flower was one girl’s dream to raise food in a way that was better for her family, the animals, and the planet. Kirsten and her husband, Andrew, embraced a homestead lifestyle on their farm in Dagsboro, gaining a deeper connection to their food and the land. After the chickens, Kirsten kept adding livestock to the farm, with a focus on heritage breed sheep and rotational grazing. Andrew worked to establish their fruit orchard, prioritizing natives, and their organic vegetable garden. Along the way, they learned to work with nature rather than against it, and developed a passion for farming in a more sustainable, and more traditional, way.

Their shared dedication to organic farming and holistic stewardship of the land laid the foundation for Forest Flower Cannabis. Inspired by the natural beauty and therapeutic potential of the plants, Kirsten took the leap into the cannabis industry. Today, she brings the same values that guided her homesteading journey and all she has learned into every aspect of Forest Flower, producing carefully cultivated cannabis that reflects the love and care she and her family pour into the land.

Kirsten McGuigan

Kirsten was born and raised in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Her love of animals and the ocean led her to work with marine mammals in California, where she was introduced to the radical concepts of eco-friendly practices and happy livestock.

When she returned home to the East Coast, it didn’t take long for her to start her own farm, producing eggs, meat, milk, and organic fruits and vegetables.

Despite many years in the restaurant industry, Kirsten can usually be found in the kitchen outside of work, baking or preparing one of her many homegrown meals.

Lately, she’s become as equally obsessed with the ingredients themselves: the fruits and vegetables, the herbs and the spices that she now grows in her personal garden. She uses the very same soil mixture, nutrient blends, and pest repellent techniques on the food she feeds her family as the cannabis she grows, trims, and packages for her customers.

As owner of Forest Flower, Kirsten has decided that the health of the land, the integrity of the plant, and the commitment to organic principles are what set our farm apart from the rest of the industry.

Andrew is from Fenwick Island, Delaware, a lover of fiction, and self-proclaimed “Team Jacob”. His enthusiasm for growing plants can be traced back to a sugar glider named Roo and the desktop garden he grew to make her feel at home.

He followed Kirsten to California where he found a job at an organic apple farm growing, processing, and selling the apples.

In pursuit of idols like Wendell Berry, Michael Pollan, and Barbara Kingsolver, Andrew is never far from a plant and a pen. At Forest Flower Andrew is the worm guy, the observationalist, and the one most likely to be found experimenting with unconventional ideas.

When it comes to cannabis, Andrew has a long and storied relationship with the plant. His first entrepreneurial venture was retrofitting old furniture into clandestine grow boxes. He’s grown in anything from a mahogany desk to a Sprinter van, and this “entrepreneurial” spirit led him to pursue a certificate in Horticulture from Oaksterdam University.

At the end of the day, it’d be hard to pinpoint exactly what Andrew spent the hours doing, but when you look around our farm at the vibrancy of life, and you close your eyes and hear the cacophony of species, you know.

Andrew Kleinstuber

Kenny is a Delaware native for whom growing cannabis is more than a career—it’s a lifelong passion. With a natural green thumb and an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture Business Management, Kenny combines deep agricultural knowledge with years of hands-on experience. He entered the cannabis industry the day he turned 21 and hasn’t looked back.

Specializing in organic and regenerative cultivation, Kenny has a particular love for perfecting soil blends. He believes the Earth already provides everything needed to grow exceptional cannabis.

Kenny began his career in Maryland before moving into the Delaware market, where he assisted in building an indoor facility from the ground up. Today, he focuses on greenhouse cultivation, using sunlight, living soil, and natural resources to grow premium, flavorful, and potent cannabis.

Even outside of work, Kenny can usually be found in the garden! Refining soil mixes, experimenting with genetics, and always looking for ways to improve. As he says, “I don’t just grow weed; I live, breathe, and eat (actually, smoke) it.”

At Forest Flower, Kenny brings his dedication and expertise to every plant, producing clean, powerful cannabis grown exactly as nature intended.

what’s the dirt?

“Plants are nature’s alchemists, expert at transforming water, soil, and sunlight into an array of precious substances, many of them beyond the ability of human beings to conceive, much less manufacture.”

― Michael Pollan

At Forest Flower, we believe in the power of healthy, living soil for growing not just cannabis, but all plants. We promote sustainable practices that are better for the environment and your wallet. Unlike hydroponic systems that rely on costly and harmful nutrient drips, our method nurtures the plant’s natural growth and enhances its quality. We proudly make all our own soil on site with organic ammendments, sourcing local ingredients whenever possible to ensure a superior, eco-friendly product.

Sussex County Terroir

Nestled between the Chesapeake Bay and the Delaware Bay, our unique region offers a rich terroir that imparts distinct flavors and characteristics to our cannabis. By harnessing the natural power of the sun, soil, and climate, we cultivate a truly regional product that reflects the essence of our environment.
